Sources: Qatar requires LNG vessels to wait outside the Strait of Hormuz for loading.

On June 17, Jin10 reported that, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation, Qatar has requested liquefied natural gas ships to wait outside the Strait of Hormuz until they are ready to load due to escalating tensions in the region. The unnamed source said this precautionary directive advises ships to avoid entering the area until the day before loading, and it is not expected to cause shipping delays. Approximately 20% of the world's liquefied natural gas trade passes through the Strait of Hormuz, making it a critical chokepoint for vessels. Speculation regarding potential delays in oil transportation has driven up energy prices following the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Iran a few days ago.
