A fresh haircut gives me a pretty look
So I take a haircut every week
Last week while preparing to travel
I called my barber by 7:45am as usual for a home service, it was on a Saturday.
While he was cutting my hair, we got into a conversation.
While talking, he jested, this one I called him this early knowing he is a family man, sarcastically, I told him I have a preaching engagement to do tomorrow that's why I called him that early to come get me handsomely looking after 3 days he last cut my hair.
He goes, preaching engagement, are you a pastor, he asked?
Yes, I'm a pastor.
He bursted into laughter, I asked, why laughing, he said, I don't believe you're a pastor, I asked, why think so.
He said, you don't behave like one, I asked him, how do pastors behave?
He bursted out with the funniest yet the craziest response I ever heard.
Dude said that Pastors don't go for early morning run and to the gym, that people who go for early morning run and gym are people who are looking for woman or man to chase😂😂
I was profusely shocked and surprised. Trying to entertain the conversation further, I responded, last week at the gym, I met with Pastor Jerry Eze at the gym, does that make him less of a pastor.
He stuttered not knowing what next to use as a counter argument.
Immediately, I got thinking, how many people out there truly share the same perspective with my barber.
It's then it dawned on me that aside my barber there probably exist people who thinks going to the gym are for fit guys and girls who are either looking for relationships, keeping fit to impress their partner or just at the gym to show off their good physique.
Years ago, someone who use to share proximity with me use to say that guys who go to the gym are either jobless or gigolos. Not months after repeated bashing on people going to the gym on his WhatsApp status indirectly throwing shades at me, dude started hitting the gym and shamelessly talking about it on his WhatsApp status.
Amazingly, dude got married and immediately started hitting the gym with the wife.
It's then I know how jobless he was, not only was he jobless, he decided to make his wife jobless too by dragging her to the gym
While I understand there exist people who go to the gym for such reasons I mentioned above.
Such mindset is a show of how people trivialize their physical, emotional and mental health.
Most if not all success people take care of these three areas of their life as their success depends on it.
Although, realistically, their success does depend on it.
The gist is —
Going to the gym for me it's a mental, emotional & physical therapy, growth and alignment.
Not to talk of the energy it gives.
Let me also say there exist exercises you can do at home without hitting the gym to keep yourself fit, healthy and vigorous.
The idea is to keep your mind focus, sharp, & highly perceptive.
Keep your emotions calm, reflective and observational
And to keep your body active, vibrant and recalibrated.
That's how you become an epic productive person
It's how you boost your power to stay consistent
That's how you stay on one thing till results is birthed.
If you train for six months consistently, you will train all your life.
