According to reports, Bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet was upgraded from small-cap to mid-cap in the semi-annual review by index provider FTSE Russell in September 2025, and was included in the flagship FTSE Japan Index. With Metaplanet's inclusion in the FTSE Japan Index, it is also automatically added to the FTSE Global Index, which covers the largest publicly traded companies ranked by market capitalization in each geographic region. Metaplanet's inclusion will guide capital inflows from the TradFi market into the Bitcoin market, providing passive stock investors with indirect exposure to Bitcoin.
